Lime Kiln Stage – 5:00pm – Sunday

Heartbreak. We’ve all been there. Whether it’s being let down by your long-term opposite number or pining for that first unrequited love. Some people fall harder than others, leaving the stark barrenness that follows love entirely unbearable. Others choose not to fall, purely to avoid that feeling. These people are soulless, as it is in that heartache that true beauty is often formed.

“Intricate heart-noise…a beautiful sounding band”

Raikes singer/songwriter Matt Twornicki has clearly had his fair share of the above. Their long awaited début – The Quiet EP – is a twenty minute ode to love lost and lovers spurned. Heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics with delicate melodies intertwine with warm guitars and a rhythm section that ebbs and flows with every beat of yearning that each song delivers.

2014 saw Raikes wow stages across the country including headline shows at the internationally famous Troubadour club in London, a stirring and emotional performance at the Little Orchard Cyder Festival and a sold out EP launch. They also recorded a BBC Introducing session and received radio airplay in no fewer than thirteen countries.
