Ross started his catering career at the Arden Hotel in Stratford upon Avon, as a KP, quickly progressing to desserts and Sous Chef over 5 years. At 21 Ross moved back to Cornwall to take up his first Head Chef position at the Halzephron Inn. This position at a young age, gave Ross the freedom to learn and experiment and whilst there won Cornwall Dining Pub of the Year twice in 2001 and again in 2004.
Since the Halzephron Inn, Ross moved onto Sous Chef and Head Chef positions at The Old Coastguard, The Ship Inn, Mawgan and Kota restaurant in Porthleven, before finding his current position as Head Chef at the Mount Haven Hotel and restaurant in Marazion. Ross feels he has finally found his own style and is always looking to progress and evolve – he is passionate with his food, and out of the kitchen he is a keen forager, surfer and goes mad for a bit of Techno.
