Yes, you heard right. We’re bringing the mighty Mad Dog Mcrea to do the honours of opening the Festival this year, supported by The Roustabouts.

Mad Dog Mcrea blend a unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and ‘shake your ass’ music. From self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, to traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies – Mad Dog never fail to capture the audience with their infectious and energetic performances.

“This is rowdy, heartfelt, room shaking and spirit-stirring music that only the dead can’t enjoy.” – ltdstate.com

Notable moments include three storming gigs at Glastonbury 2013 (notably the Avalon Stage), the release of their official video ‘Happy Bus’ and regular radio play by esteemed folk such as Mike Harding.

“It’s always a joy to me when something jumps up and smacks you between the eyes – Mad Dog Mcrea did that to me” – Mike Harding

Mad Dog will be supported by the Roustabouts, a raggle-taggle troupe of musicians, fire performers and circus artists bring an amazing gypsy cabaret circus experience to amuse, bemuse and amaze.

Listen up for mash-ups of stuff you know mixed with pithy originals.

Whatever you do don’t miss this!
