Gather your group, get ready for a giggle, and join us for an exciting new addition to Porthleven Food Festival for 2024 – the Comedy Roast with Johnny Cowling and special guests!

Guaranteed to deliver a belly full of laughs, complete with a delicious Sunday Roast, this event experience offers a brilliant line-up of Cornish comedians, a quiz and delicious local food.

And fear not the only thing getting roasted is the ingredients. So, you’re safe to bring the whole family!

Tickets include a two-course Sunday Roast, prepared by chef Rupert Cooper (of the Philleigh Way Cookery School), stand-up and a quiz with ‘Cornwall’s greatest comedy export’ Johnny Cowling, musical shanties, and high-energy comedy with Anna Keirle (star of Channel 4 hit show, Kings of Comedy, and the BBC’s Wasson Cornwall) and Mimi (Cornwall’s First Comedian of The Year competition winner).

3:45pm: Come on in and take your seats for a 4pm start.

4.15pm: Dinner is served – two course Sunday Roast and drinks available at the bar. This is a community affair, for one and all, so expect big, long tables and a convivial atmosphere.

5.15pm: Mimi & Anna Kierle

Cornwall’s first Comedian of The Year competition winner, Mimi, opens the show with a high energy performance, armed with a ukulele to accompany her sweet but sour observations. Joined by Anna Keirle,

the comedy circuit’s best kept secret, a multi-award-winning Cornish bumpkin with funny in her veins. Together they’ll be delivering musical comedy, shanties, and some proper stand-up.

6-7.30pm Johnny Cowling – comedy and proper Cornish quiz

Cornwall’s favourite funny man, and Pirate FM host, has been delighting audiences for over 25 years with Cornish charm and quick wit. An entertainer known for tackling the changing face of Cornwall, family life and holiday makers amongst other things. If we had to compare him to anyone? Well, expect a mix of Jethro, a spoonful of Tommy Cooper and a hunk of Elvis served up as a 6ft Cornishman!
