Accessibility

We have tried to make the Porthleven Food Festival properly accessible to visitors with disabilities.

We have made provisions to make your visit as straightforward as possible.

Forward car parking spaces are provided in the centre of town for Blue Badge holders and are free of charge. On entering the car parks, please ensure that the car parking staff are aware that you hold a Blue Badge and you will be directed to the appropriate area. Our Blue Badge carparking area is on hard standing with pavement access to the centre of the festival.

Part of our festival takes place within the Moors Field which is on grass, but is accessible at both ends via hardstanding so the distance travelled on grass will be minimal, but could be difficult in the event of bad weather.

Space to Change Toilets & Medical Facility

We will have accessible portable toilets available in each of our toilet blocks, with another reserved exclusively for Blue Badge holders which is located with our medical facilities in the Shipyard and will be kept clean at all times.

We will have a friendly and fully staffed team of nurses, paramedics and responders on site at all times during the event who are also trained in safeguarding. If you have any concerns about yourself, anybody else, or just need a quiet place for some time out, please give them a visit or ask any security / steward who can reach them instantly by radio.

Porthleven’s permanent toilets will also be open over the weekend and have disabled facilities.

Disabled Carer / Assistant Tickets

Our festival is free to attend for all so no Carer or Personal Assistant tickets will be required. Guide dogs are welcome in all areas of the festival.

Queries

If you have any concerns or queries regarding accessibility, or would like to discuss your requirements and the suitability of our event with us, please contact us direct on hello@porthlevenfoodfestival.com and we will be happy to help however we can.

Inclusivity

Porthleven Food Festival strives to be an open, accessible and safe environment for everybody to enjoy, that is friendly and welcoming to all.

We have made our festival free to attend in the hopes that those who would not otherwise be able to afford it can come, especially given the recent financial climate.

Everybody is welcome, and Porthleven Food Festival stands against violence or discrimination of any kind. Our security, staff & stewards are briefed to address these issues respectfully and discretely, and to respond to such acts accordingly.
